Amid assembly elections in Telangana, Police seize truck with cash Rs 750 crore

National desk: In view of Assembly elections in Telangana, state police and administration have become more vigilant. Security arrangements have been beefed up everywhere. Police have been deployed on National highways for the purpose of checking. An incident has come to fore which created a situation of Panic among the cops for a while. On Tuesday night, police were deployed on the National Highway in Gadwal for checking and after checking a truck the police found whooping amount worth Rs 750 crore in the truck.

However, the matter subsided after a few hours because the cash recovered by the police was not illegal but belonged to Union Bank of India, which was being transferred from Kerala to Hyderabad. Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj put an end to all speculations and said that after confirmation from bank officials, the truck was released for onward journey.
