Punjab Civic body Elections LIVE: Former Union Minister Vijay Sampla & family casts their vote

The voting began for Municipal Corporations, Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat elections at 8:00 am on Sunday which will continue till 4:00 pm. 

According to the officials, A total of 9,222 candidates are participating in elections. The counting of votes will take place on February 17. 

--- - Former Union Minister Vijay Sampla casts vote along with his family. 

--- Opposition parties protested over the presence of MLA Davinder Singh Ghubaya in ward number-20 of Fazilka. Protestors also raised slogans.
