COVID-19: South Korea Logs 39,600 New Cases & 83 Fatalities; 64.6% Receives Booster Jabs

SEOUL: South Korea reported 39,600 new Coronavirus infections and 83 more deaths as of midnight Friday (May 5). With this, the total number of cases has been mounted to 17,504,334, the health authorities said on Saturday (May 6).

According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), Among the new cases, 26 were imported, lifting the total to 32,147. The number of infected people who were in a serious condition stood at 419, down four from the previous day. The death toll has reached to 23,289. The total fatality rate was 0.13 percent.

The number of people who received two doses of vaccines against Coronavirus was 44,554,725, or 86.8 percent of the total population. A total of 33,172,995 people or 64.6 percent of the population has received booster jabs till now.
