COVID-19: India Adds 2.64 Lakhs New Cases In Last 24 Hrs; Omicron Tally Reaches To 5,753

NEW-DELHI: India has reported 2,64,202 new Coronavirus infections and 315 deaths in the past 24 hours. With this, the total tally in the country has reached to 3,65,82,129. The death toll has climbed to 4,85,350. The tally of cases of the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 in the country has mounted to 5,753. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 12,72,073 active cases and 3,48,24,706 recovered/discharged/cured cases in the country. The daily positivity rate stands at 14.78 percent in the country. The active case rate accounts for 3.48% of the total cases and the current recovery rate stands at 95.20%.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has reached over 155.39 Crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged Central and state governments to continue with the pre-emptive, pro-active and collective approach followed so far in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
