Bill Gates tests COVID-19 positive with mild symptoms; Quarantined at home

WASHINGTON: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on Wednesday (May 11) informed that he has contracted COVID-19 and is under home quarantine. He said that he is fully vaccinated and has access to testing and great medical care.

Gates tweeted, "I've tested positive for COVID. I'm experiencing mild symptoms and am following the experts' advice by isolating until I'm healthy again." Gates has been an active participant in the global effort to distribute COVID-19 diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines with his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

In an another tweet, Gates wrote, "The Gates Foundation is coming together today for the first time in two years, and I am lucky to be on Teams to see everyone and thank them for their hard work."

It added, "We will continue working with partners and do all we can to ensure none of us have to deal with a pandemic again."
