Under ‘Bill Lao Inaam Pao’ scheme 277 wins prizes worth 13 lakh: FM Harpal Singh Cheema

Punjab Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema said   that under the ‘Bill Laao Inam Pao’ scheme, 227 winners who uploaded their bills on ‘Mera Bill App’ in the month of September won a prize of Rs 13,39,425.  He said that the online lucky draw was conducted on Monday by a committee constituted by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Disclosing this, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that among the winners, the highest number of 38 winners are from taxation district Ludhiana, while at second place 21 winners are from taxation district Jalandhar.

He said that the enthusiasm received towards the scheme from different parts of the state is evident from the fact that among the winners, 14 were from taxation district Amritsar, 10 each from taxation districts Barnala, Gurdaspur and Faridkot, 9 each from taxation district No. From Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda and Moga, 8 each from taxation districts Fatehgarh Sahib, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Patiala, Kapurthala, Pathankot, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Hoshiarpur and Tarn Taran, 7 each from taxation districts Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Rupnagar, taxation district Mansa. There are 6 winners from Taxation District Sangrur and 5 winners from Taxation District Sangrur.

The Finance Minister further informed that the prize money of Rs 10,000 was won by 81 persons. He said that the reward announced under this scheme is equal to five times the tax paid for the good/service and up to a maximum value of Rs 10,000. He said that the list of winners has been published on the website of the Taxation Department.
