Nita Ambani thanks IOC over inclusion of cricket in 2028 olympics, says day of great joy for India    

Sports Desk:  IOC Member Nita M Ambani said that the inclusion of cricket in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games is a welcome step. This decision will create new interest and many new opportunities for the Olympic movement in the world.  Speaking on the official inclusion of cricket as an Olympic sport at the 141st IOC Session in Mumbai, Nita Ambani said, “As an IOC member, a proud Indian and a cricket fan, I am delighted that IOC members have voted to include cricket in the Summer Los Angeles Olympics 2028.”

She said, “Cricket is one of the most loved sports globally and the second most watched sport. For 1.4 billion Indians, cricket is not just a game, it is a religion!”

This is the second time in history that the IOC session is being held in India, returning to the country after 40 years. The historic decision to include cricket in the Olympics has been taken in India. Nita Ambani said, “I am delighted that this historic resolution was passed at the 141st IOC Session being held in our country, in Mumbai.”

While expressing hope she said  that this announcement will significantly increase the popularity of sports across the world. “The inclusion of cricket in the Olympics will create deeper engagement with the Olympic movement in new geographies while also boosting cricket’s growing international popularity.”

It should be noted that Nita Ambani is the first Indian woman to become an IOC member. She described this day as a day of great joy for India. “I thank and congratulate the IOC and the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for this historic decision. It is indeed a day of great joy and happiness!”
