Plot allotment case: Manpreet Badal fails to appear before VB, cites back pain as reason

Bathinda: Former Finance Minister and now a BJP leader Manpreet Badal failed to appear before Vigilance Bureau here in Bathinda today. He was supposed to appear as Vigilance Bureau has lodged case against him in irregularities in the purchase of property in Bathinda. VB has conducted raids at many locations including his residence in connection with the case.

Badal’s advocate Sukhdeep Singh Bhinder appeared before VB and deposited a medical certificate issued by PGI. He said that Manpreet Badal has sought exemption from personal appearance  for 10 days citing his health conditions. His advocate even submitted passport of Badal with the VB.

Earlier, on October 16, Badal applied for anticipatory bail in Punjab and Haryana High Court which was granted. This means that he has interim bail and couldn’t be arrested by Vigilance.
